Popcorn

We made popcorn for desert. Koyuri was very interested in watching it go from "kernel" to "popcorn"!

Fighting Hunger

and if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday.
Isaiah 58:10

A small group from our church went to Tacoma this evening with sandwiches, chips, banana's and water in an effort to feed the homeless and those without enough food. About 300 people showed up to recieve food. It was definately a humbling experience. We are planning to go again next month.

Learning to crochet

My aunt came over today and brought Koyuri a pink, handmade scarf. Then she gave Koyuri some lessons in how to crochet. I think they had a really good time. Aunt Maureen left Koyuri with some crochet hooks, yarn and a couple of books on different patterns.

Woodland Park Zoo (in Seattle)

Bald Eagle (our National Bird)

On the way home from the zoo, we stopped in a place just north of Seattle called Fremont. There is a bridge there with a "troll" under it.

When I was a kid (in the 70's), one of my favorite tv programs was JP Patches. It was a local show and was quite popular. This is a statue in Fremont of JP Patches.

Seattle Mariners Game

ICHIRO!!!!!

My mother came to visit from California for the memorial service we had for my aunt. She went to the game with us. It was the first time her, Nicholas and Shelby had been to a live baseball game.
